Njengoba cishe uyazi, ukugqwayiza ukuboniswa okusheshayo kokulandelana kwezithombe ukuze udale inkohliso yokunyakaza. Ngokwesiko ukugqwayiza kwe-2D kwenziwa ngokudweba isithombe ngasinye esibonisiwe ngasodwa. Lezo zithombe zibizwa ngokuthi "amafreyimu" futhi ngaleyo ndlela indlela enjalo ibizwa ngokuthi "uhlaka-ngohlaka lokugqwayiza". Ukuze udale inkohliso enhle yokunyakaza udinga ukudweba amafreyimu amaningi, yingakho indlela yakhe idinga isikhathi esiningi nezinsiza.
I-"Synfig Studio" iyisofthiwe yokugqwayiza yevektha ye-2D yomthombo ovulekile. Iklanyelwe ukukhiqiza ukugqwayiza kwekhwalithi yefilimu enabantu abambalwa nezinsiza.
I-Synfig Studio yakhelwe ukuqeda isidingo sokudweba ifreyimu ngayinye ngayinye. Kunezindlela ezimbili zalokho:
Morphing izithombe
I-Morphing yindlela ethatha izithombe ezimbili futhi idale uguquko olubushelelezi phakathi kwazo. Enqubweni ye-morphing, isimo esisodwa siyakhubazeka sibe esinye futhi lokhu kuguqulwa kuvame ukuchazwa ngamaphuzu okulawula. Ukugqwayiza okusikiwe

I-Synfig Studio isebenzisa lawo manani ukuze ihumushe ukunyakaza phakathi kozimele. I-Cutout animation ingakhiqizwa kusuka ezithombeni ze-bitmap noma ihluzo ze-vector.
